A. Boiler Function
Boiler or boiler is a machine device that serves to convert water into steam. The process of changing water into steam occurs by heating the water inside the pipes by utilizing the heat from the burning of the fuel. Burning is carried out continuously in the combustion chamber by draining fuel and air from outside.
Steam produced by boiler is superheat vapor with high pressure and temperature. The amount of vapor production depends on the surface area of heat transfer, flow rate, and combustion heat provided. Boilers whose construction consists of pipes containing water is called a water tube boiler.

Boiler vessels are part of the equipment used to assist the working of the prime mover. In carrying out its work, boiler ships require some other equipment. As the definition, boiler vessel is the equipment used to convert the liquid, ie water, into steam, then the boiler requires a material that will be converted into steam, the water (commonly called: feed water). To convert the liquid into boiler vapor requires heat, the required heat is obtained from the fuel. The flow of liquid to vapor is illustrated in the following figure:
